Membership

Simply stated, membership at Eastview Christian Church is a Christian's affirmation that they commit themselves to this church family.

Qualifications of Membership
The only requirement that we have for membership at Eastview Christian Church are the ones the Bible gives which include:

Believing that Jesus is the Christ, God's Son
Being immersed (baptized) into Christ for the forgiveness of sin
A commitment to becoming like Christ

You do not have to:

Get up in front of the congregation (You are welcome to come forward during the invitation time, but it is not mandatory.)
Sign on the dotted line
Commit to a creed (other than the Bible)

What does it mean to be a Member		about Christian Baptism
	I worship... While worship is a gift of adoration to be presented to God with every breath of every day, here at Eastview we highly value and emphasize the corporate worship experience as we gather together to praise God with one voice and one heart. Come, now is the time to worship our awesome God! I grow... We must never be satisfied with the spiritual status quo. Our faith must be tended and nurtured, through activities like prayer, Bible study, worship, and more, in order to grow into full maturity. Come and grow with us! I serve... The Church functions best when every member is engaged in service. Whether that service is rendered visibly or performed quietly in the background it is of great significance. Come and make an eternal difference in someone's life! I share my faith with the unreached around me God so loved the world that he sent his Son . . . now he sends us to tell others of this wonderful news. Faith is for sharing; come and join us as we share the message of Jesus Christ in Cedar Rapids and around the world!		Baptism is a believer's decision to be immersed into Jesus Christ. The purpose of baptism isnot to be a member of Eastview Christian Church. The purpose of baptism, according to Scripture, is to be cleansed by Jesus Christ and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
