Serve

serve our community

Jesus has always encouraged His followers to reach out to the community (Matthew 25:31-46).
At Eastview, we strive to serve our community by working with local mission groups that reach to our community or area.
The local missions we support are:
Aid to Women in Cedar Rapids - www.aidtowomen.com- Aid to Women has been serving women and their families in the Cedar Rapids area by providing opportunities for them to grow and make healthy, informed decisions. All of their free services are confidential. Their services include things like Pregnancy Tests and Options Counseling, and Post-Abortion Recovery and Support.
Campus Christian Fellowship - www.ccfiowa.com - CCF provides spiritual encouragement and fellowship, as well as teaching and instruction in scripture for university students as they are challenged to be "doers of the word". Currently on the University of Iowa campus and Iowa State University campus.
Northeast Iowa Christian Service Camp - www.neicsc.org NEICSC is a non-denominational camp program operated by the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ located in Bristow, IA.

In addition to the missions we support, we help out in local shelter, soup kitchens and various other local outreach organizations.
In addition, we are a partner church in the local Serve the City campaign.

If you have the ability to pray, send letters or emails of encouragement or help in supplying or sending care packages... you can help work with our foreign missionaries...

African Christian Mission in Tanzania, Billy and Leah DeLaughter - www.tzdelaughters.com
In 2005, Billy, Leah and their two daughters left for Tanzania, Africa. Their vision is to establish and assist indigenous, self-perpetuating, self-replicating, and self-sustaining, discipled cell based church movements in Arusha, Tanzania and beyond among the Tanzanian national churches, and among Muslim background believers.

Benevolent Social Services of India J.Lois, Emrys and Usha Rees
In March 1970, at the request of local officials, the Reeses began outdoor clinics and leprosy hospital work, eventually building their own 30-40 bed hospital with a staff of 22-25 members. A mobile team visits each of 12 clinics and 16 sub-clinics, giving medicine and treatment every 28 days. Emrys and Usha are the second generation of Rees to work this mission field and are currently directing and serving in the David Rees Leprosy Hospital.

At Eastview, we understand that no matter how well a picture is taken or a story told, there is nothing like actually experiencing missions work. That is why we organize mission trips to give people the opportunity to see, hear, feel, touch and taste mission work... whether it be working with a large inner city mission a few hours away from Cedar Rapids, a short trip to a foreign country or helping out on location with one of the foreign missions we support, we are sure the experiences you will have be life changing... and most importantly, Kingdom changing.
